Arrival
day
We arrived
into JFK late Monday night from London Heathrow with a long but not
unreasonable wait through customs, the main benefit of the wait was that the
cases were ready to collect as soon as we got through.
We
headed for the air train to Jamaica station so far so good. At Jamaica station
we were treated to our first whiff of the blue smoke to which my Dylan loudly
declared “smells disgusting” back on with his face mask to defend against the
smell as much as the germs.
We
got on the E train to our hotel and struggled up the steps with our cases while
doing so I hear Dylan shout at the top of his lungs “eeeeeer there’s a
cockroach!!”
“Welcome
to New York I retort” … “i hate New York” is his reply
On
to the hotel a quick check in and a bit of a wait for the elevators and we were
in our room, which is not too small by New York standards and most importantly
2 comfy beds. A quick unpacking and those beds swallowed us up as I assured my
son tomorrow would be a better day
